Tommies Add Ahmed Hafez to Roster Ahead of Big Season
Fredericton, NB — St. Thomas University’s Tommies men's soccer team is excited to announce the addition of Ahmed Hafez to their roster for the upcoming season. Hafez, a talented winger from Ottawa, Ontario, joins the Tommies as a transfer from Mount Allison University.
Hafez is eager to contribute to the Tommies' success in multiple ways. "For the upcoming season, I will bring a work ethic, athletic ability, and well-rounded leadership skills," he stated.
When asked why he chose St. Thomas University, Hafez explained, "I chose STU for both its well-known academic status and the strength of the nationally ranked soccer program. The high level of soccer and winning culture helped finalize the decision to transfer."
Hafez has set high goals for the fall season. "I plan on helping the Tommies bring back an ACAA trophy, and also bring home the national championship trophy on our home turf," he said.
Coach JR expressed his excitement about the new addition, saying, "I am happy to be adding Ahmed to our already strong roster as we look to increase competition for spots across the team. Ahmed is a hard worker, with good size and strength, and is looking to come in to compete for a starting spot. He brings a diverse soccer background and I think he will fit in well with our great group of student-athletes."
St. Thomas Athletics is thrilled to welcome Ahmed Hafez to the Tommies family. His dedication, athleticism, and leadership are expected to enhance the team's dynamic as they strive for excellence in the upcoming season. With Ahmed’s addition, the Tommies are poised to continue their pursuit of national glory.
