Women's Basketball Adds Grace Crawford for 2025-26
Fredericton, NB — The St. Thomas University Tommies are proud to announce the addition of Grace Crawford, a talented guard from Belleville, Ontario, to the Women’s Basketball roster for the upcoming season.
Crawford joins the Tommies from Nicholson Catholic College and brings competitive experience from both the St. Lawrence Lightning and Belleville Spirits club programs. She will be pursuing a Bachelor of Arts at STU, combining her academic ambitions with her athletic drive.
“I have visited the St. Thomas campus many times, which is aesthetically beautiful, but more importantly, the staff and students were warm and friendly,” said Crawford. “I look forward to being part of the tight-knit community and representing the university as a Tommie!”
After practicing with the team during her visits, Crawford knew she had found the right fit both on and off the court.
“While practicing with the St. Thomas Women’s Basketball Team, I was met with a welcoming and excited group of girls that made me already feel at home,” she said. “Coach Fred Connors has coached a championship team at St. Thomas before, and it is my hope to help them get there again in my time playing for the green and gold!”
"I was very impressed by Grace’s maturity as she worked through the process. Her workouts showed her athletic ability and willingness to move the basketball. She is aggressive defensively and will be able to make the jump to ACAA play pretty quickly. It’s also really awesome when a former Tommie (her father, Eric Crawford) reconnects to the school through their kids. We are really looking forward to working with Grace and watching her grow in our program." - Head Coach Fred Connors
The Tommies are thrilled to welcome Grace to the program and are confident her energy, skill, and passion will make an immediate impact on and off the court.
