Yukon’s Canada Games Midfielder Callah MacGillivray Commits to Women's Soccer
Fredericton, NB - Tommies women’s soccer program is proud to announce the addition of midfielder Callah MacGillivray to its 2025 recruiting class.
A dynamic and driven player from Whitehorse, Yukon, MacGillivray brings strong technical ability and an eagerness to grow both on and off the pitch. A graduate of Valleyview Secondary School, she is known for her work ethic and versatility in the midfield. She has also represented Yukon at the Canada Games and played for Kamloops United in BC.
“I really appreciate that this is a small school with a strong sense of community,” MacGillivray said about choosing STU. “The smaller class sizes mean I’ll have more opportunities for individual support and meaningful interactions with my professors. I’m also excited about the many resources and support systems available to help students succeed. Plus, the beautiful location adds to the overall experience and makes it a great place to study and live.”
Callah will be entering the Liberal Arts program with future plans to pursue medical school and a career in pediatrics. Her passion for the sciences aligns with her commitment to helping others—a quality that will no doubt translate to her time as a student-athlete at STU.
Outside of the classroom and the soccer field, she enjoys fishing, skiing, and hiking, embracing a well-rounded and active lifestyle.
She also praised the culture around the women’s soccer program. “I really appreciate how kind, organized, and supportive the coaching staff has been. Their flexibility has made me feel very welcome, which means a lot. Even though I haven’t met the team yet, I’m excited to get started and make new friends—everyone seems really friendly and welcoming.”
Head coach David Itoafa expressed excitement about the newest addition. "This is a huge signing! We are thrilled to add a midfielder that is composed on the ball and can get turned to drive play forward. Callah will fit in well with our team, and we are thrilled to add her to our roster!"
