Tommies Strengthen Back Line with Commitment of Centre Back Kylie Percy
Fredericton, NB — Tommies women’s soccer program is excited to announce the addition of Kylie Percy, a strong centre back from Newfoundland and Labrador, to the 2025 recruiting class.
Percy brings her defensive presence to the Tommies from Holy Spirit High School and the Paradise Soccer Association, where she developed into a composed and reliable figure on the back line.
Looking to grow both on and off the pitch, Percy was drawn to St. Thomas for its supportive academic and athletic environment “I chose St. Thomas for the opportunity to move away from home and experience something new,” said Percy. “The small class sizes allow me to build close connections with my peers and professors, which is really important to me.”
Percy plans to pursue Criminology at STU and is looking forward to balancing her academic ambitions with her passion for soccer. Outside of the classroom and the soccer field, she’s also a hockey player, showcasing her competitive spirit and all-around athleticism.
She’s already impressed by what she’s seen from the Tommies women’s soccer program. “The coaching staff is so committed to developing players’ skills and works with each athlete individually to help them succeed.” “The players are positive, supportive, and always pushing each other to improve. I’m excited for the opportunity to play soccer at the university level,” she said.
Head Coach David Itoafa believes Percy will be a valuable addition to the squad. “Kylie is composed, on the ball, has great passing, and great attitude! She is the exact type of player and person we love having with our program, and we are extremely excited to have her joining us for 2025!”
